Papers on Indenture

A new journal, devoted to publishing papers on all aspects related to indentured workers, past, present and future.

‘Papers on Indenture’ is a new interdisciplinary journal dedicated to the study of the history, culture, politics and life of the Indian (and South Asian more generally) indentured diaspora across the world. It welcomes contributions on other indentured communities as well (for example, Melanesians, Chinese and others). The aim of the journal is to facilitate the publication of scholarship and research on a subject that, so far, does not have a single, established scholarly outlet. The journal is sponsored by the Global Girmit Institute. It is advised by an international group of distinguished scholars.
